Zenith Bank appoints Dr. Adaora Umeoji as its first female GMD/CEO, pending CBN approval.
Zenith Bank has appointed Dr. Adaora Umeoji as its first female Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) effective June 1, pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Umeoji, who currently serves as the bank's Deputy Managing Director, has close to 30 years of banking experience, with 26 of those years spent with Zenith Bank. She is an alumna of prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and the University of Jos. In recognition of her contributions to nation-building, Umeoji was awarded Officer of the Order of the Niger in 2021.
