82-year-old Singaporean man targeted by scammers in three attempts over two months faces losses of S$3.7m. However, swift action by the Anti-Scam Centre, CIMB bank, and Hong Leong Finance helped reduce his losses and shield him from further harm. The police were alerted and arrested a 20-year-old suspect. Despite the intervention, the man still lost S$800,000, sent overseas before the police report was filed.
