36-year-old Nicholas Bidar, serving an indefinite IPP sentence with an 8-year minimum tariff for robbery and gun use, pleads for parole in a landmark public hearing. The IPP sentences, which have no release date, were abolished in 2012 but not retrospectively, leaving thousands still in jail. Bidar, the first IPP prisoner to have a public parole hearing, tells the board he has changed and will not commit offences in the future.
