35-year-old Oshkosh man, Douglas T. Murphy, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for possessing a firearm while being a convicted felon. On June 4, 2023, Murphy repeatedly pointed a handgun at several children and used it to "pistol whip" his girlfriend. A 911 call from the children led to a nearly 6-hour standoff with law enforcement before a SWAT team entered the residence and arrested Murphy.
