1 student was wounded and hospitalized after exchanging gunfire with a campus police officer at Alabama A&M University on March 18. The officer was conducting a routine patrol when they heard shots fired and encountered the armed student in the stairwell of a campus residence hall. Multiple shots were exchanged between the two, and the wounded individual was taken to a local hospital. The campus police officer was uninjured.
