Sri Lankan government-backed astrologers disagree on the best date for Sinhala and Tamil New Year amid economic crisis.

Sri Lanka's government-backed traditional astrologers are divided over the most auspicious date for Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations. The disagreement among astrologers comes as Sri Lanka emerges from its worst economic crisis, which led to protests and the resignation of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in July 2022.
