Parks Canada closes water bodies in Kootenay, Yoho, and Waterton Lakes National Parks due to fish parasite and invasive species threat, with restrictions until March.

Parks Canada has closed all water bodies in Kootenay and Yoho national parks in Canada due to the threat of a fish parasite spreading. Watercraft access is also restricted in Alberta's Waterton Lakes National Park to prevent the spread of invasive species, including the deadly whirling disease parasite and invasive zebra and quagga mussels. The closures and restrictions will remain in place until at least March next year.
