Bill Gates' TerraPower plans to build a next-generation nuclear power plant in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The Natrium reactor, set for completion in 2030, will use liquid sodium as coolant, leading to cost savings. TerraPower has raised $1bn in funding and received $2bn in US government support. The company is also working on an advanced demonstration nuclear reactor project in Idaho with utility Southern Co.
