Bedford police are searching for a thief who stole mail from a USPS mailbox outside the local post office. A police officer observed a person removing mail from the mailbox, which was later confirmed to have been opened. The officer pursued the suspect's maroon Jeep Cherokee onto Interstate 95, but ended the chase due to safety concerns. The stolen mail and the vehicle are still being investigated.
