Alabama's board of trustees approved an eight-year, $87 million contract for Kalen DeBoer, making him the head football coach of the university and the fourth-highest-paid coach in the country. DeBoer's average annual salary will be $10.875 million, with a peak salary of $11.75 million in 2031. The overall deal is 90% guaranteed if DeBoer is fired without cause, and he will have a buyout of $5 million this year, $4 million in 2025, $3 million in 2026, and nothing thereafter if he takes another job.
