19-year-old Austrian defenseman David Reinbacher, Montreal Canadiens' first-round pick, has been assigned to the Laval Rocket, the Canadiens' AHL affiliate. Reinbacher will join Laval Rocket for the remainder of the season to gain experience and prepare for the NHL. The Canadian team plans to have him play in one or two weekend games in Ontario as he adjusts to his new environment.
