The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan halted activities on Mar 15 due to Taliban pressure & staff safety concerns following the Quran burning in Stockholm. General Director Andreas Stefansson announced the cessation, stating that working without Taliban permission poses significant risks. The Swedish Committee had continued work with local & regional aids, but now faces strong messages from the Taliban.
