Sabah reported the highest number of TB cases in 2023 with 5,814, followed by Selangor with 5,631 and Sarawak with 3,177. The majority of cases (84.7%) were among citizens while 15.3% were among non-citizens. The Health Ministry is procuring an Ultra Portable X-ray machine to aid detection in remote areas and has deployed 62 units of rapid molecular tests for early detection of TB and drug-resistant TB cases.
