The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has warned certain banks to prepare for increased cyber threats after identifying deficiencies in cybersecurity capabilities during a Cyber Security and Information Technology Examination (CSITE). RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das emphasized the importance of financial institutions dedicating significant efforts to protect customer information, as advancements in AI could multiply cybersecurity challenges. Banks were provided with action points to address the identified security gaps.
