Massachusetts Senate unanimously passed a bill (S 2697) aimed at making more families eligible for subsidized child care and permanent "transformational" grants that sustained early education during the pandemic. This is the second time the Senate has passed a bill of this type in three years, with Senate President Karen Spilka hoping to secure Gov. Maura Healey's signature by the end of July.
