Major road New North Rd in Auckland's Kingsland area was closed due to an emergency incident involving a hazardous substance, leading to evacuations and disruptions to bus services. One person was hospitalised in a moderate condition, and the substance was removed and neutralised by Fire and Emergency (FENZ) crews. Police closed parts of New North Rd, and Auckland Transport halted train stops at Kingsland station.
