Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's close aide, Syed Zafar, and several other Congress functionaries have joined the ruling BJP in Bhopal ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. This move follows the recent joining of the BJP by former Union minister Suresh Pachouri and former MP from Dhar Lok Sabha seat Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi. The switch comes as Zafar and others were reportedly influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welfare schemes and BJP policies.
