Iran's National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed $13 billion contracts with domestic firms to develop six oilfields, including Azadegan, Azar, Masjed Soleyman, Soumar, Saman, and Delavaran, located in western and southwestern Iran. The contracts aim to increase daily oil production and create 60,000 jobs. The largest contract, worth $11.5 billion, involves the integrated development of the Azadegan field, Iran's largest joint oilfield shared with Iraq.
