Indonesia plans to import 22,500 tons of rice from Cambodia to meet domestic demand ahead of Eid al-Fitr, according to the National Food Agency (Bapanas). The agency's head, Arief Prasetyo Adi, stated that despite prioritizing domestically-produced rice, the government will import abroad this time to supplement stocks. Bapanas is also taking preparatory measures for the great harvesting period of rice projected between March and April this year.
