High Court of Bangladesh revokes suspension of prison sentences for Dr. Muhammad Yunus and others in a labor law violation case.
The High Court of Bangladesh has revoked an order from the Labour Appellate Tribunal, suspending the prison sentences of Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus and three other Grameen Telecom officials in a labor law violation case. Yunus's six-month jail term will remain in force, but the punishment, fine, and direction on certain matters will be suspended. The High Court directed Dr. Yunus to inform the Labour Appeal Tribunal if he wishes to travel abroad.
