2 brothers arrested in Odisha for posing as ED officers, extorting over ₹16 lakh from govt officials.
Odisha police arrest two brothers, Tarinisen Mohapatra and Brahmashankar Mohapatra, for posing as Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers and extorting over ₹16 lakh from government officials. The duo, from Dhenkanal district, used separate SIM cards from Odisha and Jharkhand, and maintained a luxurious lifestyle by extorting money from approximately 340 government officers. The fraud was uncovered after a complaint was filed by Chhatrapur sub-collector Debadatta Mohanta.
