2023 Australian online shopping report reveals Macleay Island in Queensland and Mount Duneed in Geelong as top shopping hotspots, with overall spending decreasing 1.2% to $63.6 billion. Online spending grew in Western Australia (5.1%) and Tasmania/Northern Territory (4.6%). Budget variety stores experienced a 9.1% increase, while spending on fashion and home and garden items declined. Younger Australians spent less online, while the 60-78 age group increased their spending by 7%. The report also shows a 1.5 million increase in online shoppers since 2019.
