19-yr-old James Rawlings fined £276 at Liverpool station despite buying Trainline ticket; ticket office closed.
19-year-old James Rawlings was fined £276 at Liverpool Central station despite buying a Trainline ticket for his journey home from work. His dad, Paul, said there was no chance to print the ticket as the ticket office was closed and there were no ticket machines. The next day, the ticket office was still out of action, but James took pictures as proof and was let through after showing his Trainline ticket. The family appealed the penalty warning.
