Stuart Biggs, caught on camera with a chainsaw near a locked gate in a Wakefield commercial forest, was found guilty of cutting an illegal access track. Biggs denied the charge, claiming he was using the chainsaw to clear a fallen tree. The judge in the Nelson District Court determined that the police had proven Biggs' intentional damage to Tasman Pine Forests' vegetation.
