1 person was killed and 13 injured, including 5 children, when a truck lost control and fell into a valley in Goa, India. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Desai, passing by after a poll campaign, stopped to help. Sawant, an Ayurvedic doctor, checked the victims' pulses while Phal Desai assisted in pulling them from the wreckage. The injured were taken to a hospital in Panaji for treatment.
