NSW Government plans to install after-hours emergency beacons at Austinmer, Bulli, and Woonona beaches after a series of mass rescues and near-miss incidents. The beacons, which can be activated to call emergency services, are part of a $23m investment in Surf Life Saving NSW over four years, including 67 jet skis for surf clubs. The announcement follows calls from surf lifesavers for the installation of such technology.
