Kenyan anti-corruption bodies, including the EACC, AG and ODPP, have opposed the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes (Amendment) Bill, 2023, sponsored by Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Kariuki Ruku. They argue that the bill is a step back in the fight against corruption and threatens key corruption offences that protect public funds and enforce accountability among public officials. The institutions call for the bill's rejection.
