2022 KEF report: South Korean conglomerate workers earn more than Japanese conglomerate workers for the first time.
2022 KEF report reveals South Korean workers at conglomerates earned an average of 5.88 million won ($4,417) monthly, surpassing Japanese workers at conglomerates (4.43 million won) for the first time. The wage gap between big companies and SMEs widened in South Korea, while it lessened in Japan. In 2022, Korean SME workers earned 57.7% of what conglomerate workers did, while Japanese SME workers received 73.7% of conglomerates' wages.
