Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel named as accused in Mahadev online betting scam FIR.
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been named as an accused in a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Chhattisgarh Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with the Mahadev online betting scam. The EOW registered the case based on a probe report submitted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has been investigating the Mahadev app-linked money laundering case for over a year. The ED alleged that its investigation has shown the involvement of various high-ranking politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh, where the two main promoters of the app hail from. The projected proceeds of crime in this case are estimated to be around Rs 6,000 crore.
