Belgian cyclist Jasper Philipsen won the Milan-San Remo race in a photo-finish, edging out Australian Michael Matthews and two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar. The Alpecin-Deceuninck sprinter claimed his first victory in a "monument" race, finishing the 288-kilometer route in 6 hours, 14.44 seconds. Philipsen praised his teammate Mathieu van der Poel for his crucial support in the final sprint.
