41-year-old Shaun Cardarelli, from San Gabriel, was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit arson in the death of part-time firefighter John Aguila, from West Covina, in 2019. Aguila's burned body was discovered near a roadside in Upland. The other two suspects, Davone Smith and Elijah Thomas Rouse, took plea deals and are awaiting sentencing.
