24-year-old Anatol Botnari, a Moldovan man living in Dublin, was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a bus stop. Despite denying the charge and claiming it was an accident, Judge Monika Leech found Botnari guilty in a non-jury trial. The incident occurred on February 4th, and the case will resume in May for sentencing, with a victim impact statement and probation report being prepared. Botnari remains on €750 bail, must stay out of certain parts of north Dublin, and regularly sign on at a local Garda station.
