Swiss skier Marco Odermatt, the overall champion, narrowly missed a perfect giant slalom season and a 45-year-old record at the World Cup finals on Saturday. Although dominating the first run, Odermatt lost balance on his inside ski after 20 seconds and failed to make the next gate, ultimately resulting in a commanding lead over eventual winner Loic Meillard. Odermatt still secured a third straight overall title and third straight discipline globe.
