Missouri's Velda City and Flordell Hills police forces have resigned due to financial difficulties within the Velda City Board of Aldermen. The Velda City Police Department, consisting of 5 full-time and 7 part-time officers, has ceased operations, leaving the communities without local police services. Pagedale police will temporarily provide emergency services until a permanent solution is found.
