A Mississippi tax preparer, Christopher Randell, has been sentenced to 70 months in prison for conspiring to prepare and file false tax returns, causing over $3.5m tax loss to the IRS. Working at Sunbelt Tax Services, Randell and co-conspirators fabricated education credits, itemized deductions, and business profits or losses, leading to thousands of fraudulent returns. He joins three others from Sunbelt who have already been sentenced for similar actions.
