The disruption affected internet services in Nigeria and parts of sub-Saharan Africa, impacting businesses and financial institutions. The repair process involves identifying and assigning a vessel, retrieving necessary spares, sailing to the fault location, conducting repair work, inspecting and testing joints, and finally placing the repaired cable back into the seabed.
