Isle of Wight Council sells Weston Academy to Strategic Green Land for £400,000; plans for 16 houses, including 4 affordable homes.
The Isle of Wight Council's cabinet has agreed to sell Weston Academy in Totland, a former primary school which has been empty since 2015, to Bath-based company Strategic Green Land for £400,000. Subject to planning permission, the company plans to build 16 houses on the site, with four of them to be sold or rented at an "affordable" rate. The bid retains the original stone schoolhouse and much of the Victorian buildings.
