BP and Equinor invest £4bn in Teesside, UK, for a commercial-scale gas-fired power station with carbon capture technology.

BP and Equinor are investing £4bn into Teesside, UK, to transform the region's industrial landscape and create one of the world's first commercial-scale gas-fired power stations with carbon capture technology, called Net Zero Teesside Power. The project will potentially create up to 3,000 construction jobs and another 1,000 to run the facility. The Northern Endurance Partnership, involving BP, Equinor, and Total, is also developing CO2 transport and storage in the North Sea to support the UK government's commitment to decarbonisation.
