BC's Civil Resolution Tribunal ordered a muffler shop to pay $2,285 for a car that caught fire after a fuel line issue occurred following repairs. The owners of the car claimed the muffler shop failed to fix the vehicle properly, while the shop maintained they had repaired it correctly. Tribunal member Peter Mennie ruled in favor of the car owners, stating the business had not met its duty of care.
