Nisga'a Nation and Western LNG acquire the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission pipeline project, expanding Indigenous participation in the Canadian economy.

The Nisga'a Nation and Texas-based Western LNG have acquired the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission pipeline project from TC Energy Corp, marking a significant shift in Indigenous participation in the Canadian economy. The Nisga'a Nation and Western LNG will take an equal ownership role in the pipeline, which spans 900km and, if completed, would supply natural gas to the proposed floating Ksi Lisims LNG project north of Prince Rupert. The partnership plans to develop the Ksi Lisims LNG project, which they say would be a floating production facility capable of producing 12 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year.
