5-mile M25 stretch in Surrey to be closed for bridge demolition and gantry installation, causing potential gridlock and traffic delays.

The M25's five-mile stretch between Junctions 10 and 11 in Surrey will be closed from 9pm on Friday to 6am on Monday for a bridge demolition and new gantry installation. Motoring experts and local councillors anticipate gridlock due to the M25's normal weekend traffic of 4,000-6,000 vehicles per hour. National Highways' modelling suggests vehicles could face delays of up to five hours without mitigation measures, such as urging drivers to stay away.
