Michigan AG's office charges Hillsdale County Sheriff's Sergeant Ronald Leggitt with 7 felonies for allegedly assaulting a female inmate 6 times with pepper spray during an 80-minute period in December 2021. The assaults occurred while the inmate was restrained in a chair during her booking process after resisting officers during her arrest. Leggitt has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.
