Japan launches a new high-speed bullet train extension to Fukui Prefecture, an under-the-radar location 185 miles west of Tokyo. The Hokuriku Shinkansen service will pass through Fukui city, Awara town, and other lesser-known places before reaching Tsuruga port. This new extension increases accessibility to the region, which is known for its dinosaur attractions, including robotic replicas at Fukui Station and the local mascot, Juratic.
