Intuitive Surgical's da Vinci 5, a next-generation multiport robotic system for minimally invasive surgery, has received FDA clearance. CEO Gary Guthart states that the new system aims to improve patient outcomes, enhance patient and care team experiences, and lower overall costs of care. Da Vinci 5 builds on the functionality of its predecessor, Intuitive's da Vinci Xi, with added advancements in accuracy, precision, and technology.
