India's Ministry of Minority Affairs has approved a Rs 40 crore project for the Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies' (CIHCS) infrastructure development, with the aim of strengthening infrastructural development related to Buddhist development, academic collaboration, research, and preservation of language. The scheme is part of the 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram' and 'Buddhist Development Plan', and the project will develop CIHCS into a knowledge partner for matters related to Buddhist Development Plan in the Himalayan and North-Eastern regions.
