India's Finance Ministry raised the windfall tax on domestic crude oil sales to ₹4,900 per tonne, effective March 16, amidst global crude price volatility. The export tax on petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel remains at zero. The government had previously imposed a windfall tax on crude oil producers from July 2022 and extended the levy on exports of gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel.
