Connecticut's DCF overhauls group homes program (STTAR) with $6M funding, improving staffing, training, and care for adolescents.
Connecticut's Department of Children and Families (DCF) is overhauling its group homes program, now called Specialized Trauma-Informed Treatment Assessment and Reunification (STTAR). The program will receive an additional $6 million in funding to improve staffing, training, programs, and open two intensive care units. The changes aim to allow clinicians to spend more time with each child and better cater to the needs of adolescents in the shelters.
