Police in the Philippines rescued hundreds of people, including 432 Chinese nationals and 371 Filipinos, from a large online scam centre. Eight suspects were arrested following a raid on the sprawling compound north of Manila, where victims were forced to work on various scam operations, such as love scams, romance scams, and cryptocurrency scams. The rescued workers were reportedly controlled by having their passports confiscated, preventing them from leaving.
