33-year-old Liam McCarthy faces prison after admitting to sending threatening emails and voicemails to Tory MP Caroline Nokes between May 2022 and March 2023. McCarthy targeted Nokes, MP for Romsey and Southampton North, and threatened staff at the Department for Work and Pensions. He also admitted leaving threatening voicemails for Steve Smith, a former official at Southampton City Council.
