16-year-old Kaylea Titford, with spina bifida, died in neglect, weighing 23 stone; parents found guilty of manslaughter for not having a care plan during lockdown.

16-year-old Kaylea Titford, who suffered from spina bifida and was confined to a wheelchair, died in "shocking neglect" weighing 23 stone, and was found lying in soiled clothing and bed linen. The parents were found guilty of manslaughter by allowing her to become morbidly obese during lockdown and not having a care plan in place. The Mid and West Wales Regional Safeguarding Board commissioned a child practice review that found missed opportunities to save the teenager, and her suffering was deemed "avoidable."
